2011 Spring Fishing & Ice Off
By RLRstaff @ 8:06 AM :: 563 Views :: 3 Comments :: Article Rating

Ice is pretty much off Roy but with today's expected temperatures, I expect it to be completely off Roy by the end of today (April 25 2011). As of this morning we just have some lingering patches of soft ice.

Pro and TV fisherman Al Lindner is coming in either today or tomorrow to do some filming on Roy and I would also suspect he will be the first to fish on Roy this spring with Ice off unless someone beats him out there today. So the fishing bite at this moment is kind of a guess but do expect it to be another successful open water season!

Also, just a another little snip bit about Spring Fishing. As Ice off continues and the same with every spring, floating debris caused by ice is hazardous.

We have noticed already quite a few floating logs and downed dead trees so make sure to always be cautious and observant in your treks across the lake in your boat. It will probably take a couple of weeks before these trees safely drift ashore.

Fall 2010 Pheasant and waterfowl hunting
By jthames @ 11:06 AM :: 1196 Views :: 0 Comments :: Article Rating :: Fishing Reports, Bird Hunting

 Hi:

I have been a little delinquent on getting fishing reports out so here what there is to say about fishing.  It is July and fishing is a little slow, but if you are with a guide or are familiar with summer fishing, there have been very nice walleyes caught on the area lakes, up to 10 #, nice eating size Northerns and nice small mouth bass.  One Smallie came in last week at 20.5 inches which is very nice and a Proud Angler too.

Fishing in July & August is good and I happen to be a bass fisherman and they fight great, particularly toward the end of the day throwing poppers into shore.

I will be adding pictures of the fish this summer.  Just bear with me for a few days.

Fall filshing is here and the fishing is fantastic. - Thursday, September 08, 2011

This is the beginning of the Fall fishing and it is already fantastic.  Small Mouth Bass are hitting like crazy....Tuesday night the majority were in the 19 to 20 inch size and they were

great fighters.  Of course, we put them all back. Large Mouth are also biting.

People are also limiting out on walleye on some of the other lakes close by.

The fishing is only going to get better because as the water cools down it will eventually turn over and the aggressive bite will be on.  This is for all species and it will continue until ice on.  The last week of October last year most people were hunting but Johnny and group after hunting they went fishing and limited out on walleye and northern for a Dakota Smash.  Pictures will be included.  Also Chuck Eldridge and boys limited out on Walleye the biggest one 10.5 lbs. and small mouth bass with the biggest one at 6.2oz and Crappie with the biggest one at 16.5 inches.

Cabin Openings - Wednesday, June 22, 2011

We have cabin openings. Check the calendar to see what works best for you.
